This assignment was to create an illustrative cover for The Walrus, a Canadian publication. The illustration was based on an article about climate change and how many people are normalizing the effects of it calling it “The New Normal” which was the title of the article. I took a more playful approach to my cover as I felt it tied in well to the article and the downplaying of climate change people have. I went for a newspaper political comic style featuring two aliens looking down on a climate change-ravaged earth. This was created using a combination of Illustrator and InDesign.
